Rock River Valley High School Sports Awards boys basketball team named

Each year the Rockford Register Star and The Journal-Standard of Freeport recognize the best of the best in area high school sports with the Rock River Valley High School Sports Awards.
This is a nine-month, student-athlete recognition program that is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. It culminates in a star-studded, on-demand broadcast show, featuring the biggest names in professional sports and the top student-athletes from the Rockford area. And the Register Star, first with the NIC-10 banquet and now with the Sports Awards, has honored local high school athletes for more than 50 years.
This year's list of online presenters include Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the reigning NFL MVP.
Honorees for 25 state-sanctioned sports will be announced throughout the year in the Rockford Register Star, The Journal-Standard of Freeport and on the event website at sportsawards.usatoday.com/rockrivervalley.
