Boys handle Woodruff, three others before break

The Washington swimming team lost a home dual to Pekin Dec. 16.
Sebastian Whiting accounted for the only Panther first-place finish in a 134-52 setback at the Five Points Washington Aquatic Center.
Whiting completed the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:15.62.
The Dragons won the other 11 events to return home with a victory.
Camron Johnson of Washington set a school record with a diving score of 127.

The Panthers were first Thursday in a five-team gathering in Peoria.
Spencer Scheirer won twice for Washington. He clocked a 2:25.72 in the 200 individual medley and a 1:04.18 in the 100 butterfly.
Jordan Wilson was the 200 freestyle winner in 2:07.50.
Additionally, the Panther 400 free relay team, consisting of Steve Williams, Whiting, Scheirer and Wilson was first in a time of 3:56.83.
The boys are off until Jan. 6 at Woodruff.
