Scheirer first in 200 IM

Washington was first in seven events Sept. 22, but Eureka/Roanoke-Benson/Metamora won the girls swimming meet.

E/R-B/M made up for fewer victories with better depth at Eureka College in a 108-67 victory.

Lauren Stockton, Caitlyn Scheirer and Lauren Dwyer all won two times for the Lady Panthers.

Stockton captured the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:08.35 and the 500 freestyle in 5:35.85.

Scheirer was victorious in the 200 individual medley in 2:16.82 and the 100 butterfly in 1:01.64.

Dwyer was first for Washington in the 50 free in :27.24 and the 100 free in 1:00.64.

Also, the Lady Panther quartet of Stockton, Erin Misselhorn, Dwyer and Scheirer won the 400 free relay in 3:58.91.

Bloomington Invitational

Washington was 12th Sept. 26 with 100 points in the Twin Cities.

Scheirer earned third in the 100 fly and Stockton was fourth in the 500 free.

The Lady Panthers were fifth in both the 200 medley relay (Scheirer, Dwyer, Stockton and Misselhorn) and 200 free relay (Scheirer, Misselhorn, Dwyer and Stockton).

Normal U-High was the team champion with 318 points.

Midwest Invitational

Washington landed eighth place in a nine-team competition hosted by Richwoods Saturday.

Scheirer had a big day for the Lady Panthers, who accumulated 72 points.

She was the 200 IM champion with a time of 2:18.32. Scheirer also was fifth in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke.

Washington relays were fifth in the 200 medley and sixth in the 400 free.

U-High totaled 351 points to claim the team title.
