Swimmers thrash Olympia

The Washington girls swimming team delivered a sparkling performance Thursday.

In the inaugural home meet for the first-year program, the Lady Panthers drilled Olympia, 125-48, at the Five Points Washington Aquatic Center.

Valerie Wetterauer led Washington by scoring 16 points.

Paige Blumenshine and Sarah Bivens added 14 points apiece, Caitlyn Scheirer complied 12 and Emma Tully 10 for the home team.

The Lady Panthers were first 10 times, including all three relays.

Blumenshine, Katie Cooper, Wetterauer and Bivens claimed the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:12.47.

Hamilton, Kyla Kirby, Bivens and Lauren Dwyer were victorious in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:04.50.

In the 400 free relay, Washington’s Blumenshine, Wetterauer, Dwyer and Scheirer were first in 4:06.58.

Scheirer (two), Wetterauer (two), Blumenshine, Dwyer and Bivens all won individual events.
