Resident against hotel tax increase

The Washington City Council finally got it right on the rejection of the hotel tax proposed by Brent Lonteen.
This is a tax on out of town people who visit Washington.
Since when does Lonteen think he has the right to even ask surrounding cities to consider a tax for his benefit at the civic center in Peoria.
His job should be to find a way within his jurisdiction to help pay for tourism. Perhaps a 1 cent tax on tickets would be a way.
Being an ex newscaster, I am sure he can find a way to get the job done without interfering with our taxes here in Washington.
