Jared E. Johns

Jared E. Johns, 83, of White Heath, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Born Dec. 27, 1927, in Lawrence, Kan., to Dorothy and Perry Johns, he married Bonnie Feb. 26, 1951. She survives. 

Also surviving are one sister Ruth Nelson of Indianapolis; two sons, Will (Valerie) Johns of Nashville and Bryan (Elizabeth) Johns of White Heath; two daughters, Alice (Ken) Simpson of Grand Island, Neb., and Susan Johns of Boulder, Colo.; and six grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by one sister, Diana Johns, and son-in-law, Peter Bailey-Britton.

He was employed by Caterpillar working in the foundry and as news director.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
