Mary June Miller

Mary June Walker Miller, 86, of Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at her home.

Born June 25, 1923, in Rush County, Ind., to Ira and Gertrude Palmer Walker, she married Harry Miller Jr. Jan. 5, 1947, in Wabash, Ind. He died Aug. 7, 1985, in Peoria.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorelei (David) Cox and Louisa Miller (Wells), both of Washington, and Maria (Kirk) Poore of O’Fallon; and six grandchildren.

Miller was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maurita.

Miller was co-owner of Milnor Fabrics in Washington and also worked for Martin Marietta in Orlando as a mechanical engineer.

 She taught at Illinois Central College and substituted at District 52 and Pleasantview District 622.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy as a Yeoman First Class.

Services were Saturday at Evangelical United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hauck officiated. Visitation was Friday at Mason-White Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial was in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
