Estell Vaughn

Riceville, Tenn. — Estell Sherlin Vaughn, 80, of Riceville, Tenn., died Dec. 18, 2009, in Athens, Tenn.

A former resident of Illinois, he was retired vice president and general manager of I. V. Die Mold in Peoria.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Susan Marie Mertens Vaughn of Riceville, Tenn.; three sons, David Virgil Vaughn of Coralville, Iowa., Mark Daniel and Jennifer Vaughn of Annawan, Ill., and Christopher Scott and Carrie Vaughn of Washington, Ill.; daughter, Karrie Lynn Glines of Layton, Utah; four brothers, Everett of Louisville, Ky., Osmond Vaughn of Athens, Tenn., Buford Vaughn of Athens, Tenn., Myrl Vaughn of Athens, Tenn.; sister, Eloise Maye of Riceville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were 8 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

Interment was in Idlewild Cemetery with Military Honors.
