Gerald “Jerry” A. Scalf, 53, of Peoria Heights, formerly of Washington, died at 2:47 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Sept.10, 1955, in Canton to Jack and Viola Peters Scalf.

Survivors include his father, Jack Scalf of West Plains, Mo.; one daughter, Kristen Kay Scalf of New Hampshire; four brothers, Jack Scalf Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn., Phil (Karen) Scalf of Washingtin, Ken (Cynthia) Scalf of Washington and Keven (Amy) Scalf of Washington; two sisters, Karen (Dave) Kamin of Peshtigo, Wis., and Trisha (Jim) Beasley of Washington.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Nathan, and one niece.

He worked for Caterpillar in the engine assembly area at Mossville for more than 35 years.

Services were Saturday at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. John Bussone officiated. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation preceeded services.
