Lillian I. Liter, 77, of Washington, died at 4:57 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at her home.

Born June 11, 1931, in Clarinda, Iowa, to William A. and Elizabeth A. Turner Hyde, she married Robert T. Liter March 4, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa.  He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Martie (Jerry) Ogborn of Mackinaw and Jeannie (Chuck) Joplin of Mapleton; two sons, Jeff (Jackie) Liter of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Ron (Linda) Liter of Maple Grove, Minn., one sister, Phyllis Manning of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Gwyn Hyde; and one sister, Jeanne Herbner.

She was a seamstress. She also was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where she was in the choir and taught Sunday school. 

She also was a member of the chorus for the Peoria Players production of “My Fair Lady.”

Services were Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Washington. The Rev. John Rothfusz officiated. Visitation was Monday at the church. 

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. 

Deiters Funeral Home in Washington was in charge of arrangements.
