Wilmer G. “Bill” Foster, 72, of Washington, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at his home.

Born June 20, 1936, in Peoria to Harold and Ann Boice Foster, he married Beverly J. Stein Nov. 3, 1957, in Washington. She died Aug. 19, 1976.

Surviving are five daughters, Susan Foster of Washington, Shari (Mark) Martinez of Champaign, Shelly (Dave) Wright of Eureka, Mindy (Scott) Riden of Good Hope and Beth (Allen) Hattan of Lacon; one son, Steve (Dawn) Foster of Washington, 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mary Eakle and Helen (Russ) Becker, both of Washington; two brothers, John (Sharon) Foster and Fred Foster, both of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Sharon (Ernie) Phillips of Morton and Diane Stein of Washburn; and his mother-in-law, Bethal Stein of Washington.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Washington area. He also was a truck driver for Zehr Bros. Trucking and Fort Transfer, both in Morton, Bahler Trucking in Fairbury, Wright Trucking in Washington and most recently for Washington Township.

He spent many years raising and showing show horses throughout Illinois.

He was a member of the Teamsters 627, the Palomino Horse Breeders Association, the American Paint Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Services were Monday at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. John Hauck officiated.

Visitation was at the funeral home.

Burial was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
