Shirley Rocke

MORTON – Shirley M. Rocke, 85, formerly of Washington, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

Born July 8, 1922, in Washington to Frank and Edna Guth Spring, she married Walton Rocke in Washington Oct. 6, 1943. He died Dec. 16, 2004, in Peoria.

Also preceding her in death was one sister, Fern (Ray) List.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Dave) Neeley of Mackinaw and Sandy (Tom) Auen of Peoria; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business.

She was a graduate of Washington Community High School and Brown’s Business College in Peoria.

Services were Thursday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she was a member. The Rev. John Bates officiated.  

Burial was in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.  

Visitation was June 25 at Mason-White Funeral Home and prior to services at the church.
