WASHINGTON – Tommy M. Picton, 72, formerly of Canton, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Sept. 20, 1935, in Farmington to Henry and Flora Belle Smith Picton, he married Judy Noland in Montery Aug. 5, 1956. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Mark (Debra) Picton of Washington; one daughter, Doree (Rev. Chris) Bonn of Troy, Mo.; three sisters, Audrey Stockham of Canton, Jaunita Reinhardt of Lewiston and Catherine Leroi of Hayward, Calif.; two brothers, Don Picton of California and Joe (Melba) Picton of Jacksonville, Fla.; and five grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in Korea.

He worked as a journey wireman electrician with Local 34 IBEW out of Peoria, retiring Oct. 1, 1997. With the local, he served as vice-president and on the examining board.

He was a 1953 graduate of Canton High School, a member of Kennel Lake Sportsman’s Club and attended Abundant Life Church in Peoria.

Services were April 10 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. His son-in-law, the Rev. Chris Bonn officiated.  

Military rites were accorded by the U. S. Army.

Visitation was at the Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington.
