Mildred List

WASHINGTON – Mildred F. List, 88, died at 1:50 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Rosewood in Peoria.

Born Aug. 9, 1919, in Kingman, Ind., to Francis and Myrta Zackmire McGinnis, she married June 23, 1945, Carl List in Danville. He died April 6, 1999, in Washington.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, five brothers and two half brothers.

Surviving are one son, James (Rebecca) List of Steger; four daughters, Elaine (the Rev. Doug) Hicks of Washington, Donna (Glen) Wiegel of Normal, Gaylene (Herb) Hess of Cincinnati and Neva (Mark) Rynearson of Brimfield; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

She was a member of Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington and a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She also was a 4-H leader for 20 years and a Girl Scout Leader.

Burial was April 21 in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington, followed by services at Mason-White Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Hicks officiated.
