WASHINGTON – Cathryn D. Bengert, 43, died at 4:14 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born March 18, 1965, in Peoria to Fred H. and Darlene K. Horn Rotermund, she married Dennis J. Bengert Aug. 15, 2003, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents of East Peoria; one stepdaughter, Shelbie F.M. Bengert, and one stepson, Austyn J.J. Bengert, both of Delavan; her mother-in-law, Faith J. Purdue of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Fred H. (Julie) Rotermund of Danvers and Jeremy D. Rotermund of Peoria; five sisters, her twin, Janet M. (Donnie) Wagley of East Peoria, Rochelle L. Rotermund and Diane L. Rotermund, both of Washington, Heidi S. (John) Olejnik of Peoria and Jill E. (Sam) Taylor of Mahomet; her sister-in-law, Amanda J. Bengert of Evansville, Ind., and brother-in-law, William J. Bengert of Chicago; and grandparents-in-law, Joseph and JoAnn Durbin of Carbondale.

She was the assistant manager at Factory Card and Party Outlet for more than five years.

Services were April 10 at Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington. The Rev. Steve Hardin will officiate.

Visitation was one hour prior to the services at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Deiters Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to A.R.K. (Animal Rescue Kennel) in Lacon or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
