Pauline Mette

Pauline U. Mette, 85, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born June 29, 1922, in Dublin, Ireland, to Christopher and Jane (Balfe) Nolan, she married Richard E. Mette in England Jan. 3, 1945. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Terence C. Nolan.

Surviving are four daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Miller of Washington, Suzanne (Marshall) Snider of Denver, Jayne M. Mette of Morton and Julie (Steve) Peris of Morton; one son, Paul (Linda) Mette of Washington; four grandsons, three granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and her long-time companion, Gene Fehr. 

She was retired from OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where she worked for 26 years as a medical transcriptionist.

Memorials may be made to either the Washington Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association.
