Virginia Winn

Virginia M. Winn, 80, died at 7:07 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born July 24, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Eugene and Helen Carpenter Novak, she married Robert Winn Oct. 2, 1948, in Chicago. He died Dec. 1, 2002, in Lexington, Ky.

Surviving are two sons, Brian (Lori) Winn and Patrick (Lori) Winn, both of Washington; three daughters, Deborah (David) Barclay of Naperville, Denise (Steven) Heiser of Richmond, Va., and Michelle (Stan) Miranda of Lockport; one brother, Robert Novak of San Diego; one sister, Paula Novak; and 12 grandchildren.

She was a reporter and columnist for many years with the Tazewell Reporter, then later with the Woodford Journal and the Pekin Times.

Services were Feb. 8 at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
