Esther Louise Planck, 100, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

Born Oct. 16, 1097, in Peoria to Richard and Mary Schar Russenberger, she married Russell M. Planck Oct. 24, 1929, in Peoria.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary (Paul) Choberka of Ogden, Utah, and Jan Lawrence of Roscoe; four grandchildren; one granddaughter-in-law, Lori Haller of Morton; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Louise Planck of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ; one sister, Marguerite Nelson; and three grandchildren.

She and her husband lived in Michigan for several years before returning to Peoria, where they lived until 1944 when they moved to Washington.

She was active in Girl Scouts, Washington Women’s Club, WSCS at the Methodist church, as well as teaching Sunday school and Bible school.

She also played in several bridge clubs, belonged to Peoria Camera Club in more recent years.

Services were Feb. 9 at Maple Lawn Nursing Center in Eureka. The Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts, Harbor Lights Hospice Program or to Maple Lawn.
