FEMA announces funding available

The local Federal Emergency Management Agency board recently announced Tazewell County will receive funding to supplement area emergency food and shelter programs un FEMA Phase 27.

The grants are awarded annually through FEMA.

The local board, made up of community leaders, reviews applications from eligible area emergency food and shelter programs in order to determine how the funds will be distributed.

Applications are due by April 3 to the FEMA board chair, Capt. Peter Mount, in care of The Salvation Army, 243 Derby St., Pekin, IL 61554.
