Despite the heavy rains Friday through Sunday, city workers found minimal flooding of Washington streets, public services manager Bill Bimrose said, adding that as soon as the rain stopped, the water began draining.

He added that he did not think the backlog of water was as bad as it could have been given the amount of rain the Central Illinois area had during the weekend.

In addition, Bimrose said he has not seen any damage to city streets as of Monday night.
