TimesNewspapers garners top honors at Mega Media Challenge

Nathan Domenighini, editor of the Morton Times-News; Bryan Veginski,
Tazewell county sports editor; Matt Faley, advertising representative: and
Donelle Pardee-Whiting, editor of the Washington Times-Reporter, took top
honors March 6 in the Mega Media Challenge as part of the IHSA March Madness.
Ten media organizations gathered to take part in a fun morning of
competition at the Peoria Civic Center.
The event began with a tricycle relay race then moved into a bungee run, inflatable obstacle course and a few other events in there involving shooting baskets.
“I was so sore by the end of the day Thursday, but it was worth it for the win. I think we surprised everyone. It just goes to show you that you should never underestimate the competition,” Whiting said.
It was Veginski’s first top-place finish in eight years of competition.
