Washington library celebrates National Library Week

The Washington District Library is will celebrate National Library Week, “Join the Circle of Knowledge @ your Library,” with a week of activities.

Saturday through April 16 will be the annual Friends of the Library book sale.

All activities will be at the main library unless specified otherwise. Other activities include:

• Book Babies Storytime for toddlers 18 to 35-months-old and a caregiver at9:30 a.m. Tuesday

• Open Storytime for ages 3 to 6-months-old at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Sunnyland Branch

• Guitar Hero Tournament for teens will be from 7-9 p.m.  Tuesday. Participants will play Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock.

• Open Storytime for ages 3-6 at 2 p.m. April 17.

• Murder Mystery Night for teens from 6-8 p.m. April 17. Teens will  try to solve the mystery of the Murderous Melodrama. Pre-registration is required.

• Storyteller/musician Mike Anderson in concert at 6:30 p.m. April 17

• Storytime for ages 3-6 at 10 a.m. April 18

• Mystery Movie Night Double Feature from 5-8  p.m. April 18. Teens will have the opportunity to see the new “Nancy Drew” film, followed by “Clue, the Movie.” Pizza will provided.

• and “Bubble Wonders” magic with Geoff Akins at 10 a.m. April 19.

There will be no fines on overdue books returned between Saturday and April 19.
