Faith, family, community and customer service. Those are the words Todd and Jodi Cannon use to describe what they hope their new business will represent.

After about a year and a half of planning, the Washingtonians, along with Jodi’s parents Doug and Beverly Snyder of Morton, opened All in Bloom Floral Design and Gifts, Ltd. today.

“It all kind of got started when I wanted to buy flowers for my wife and realized I’d have to leave town to do so,” Todd said. “I thought it was kind of strange that the town didn’t have its own floral shop.”

Todd said it didn’t hurt that his wife had dreamt of owning a floral shop since she was a little girl.

However, the full-service family florist, located at 1237 Peoria St., is not the average florist. Customers can also find home decor, Mackinaw Valley Vineyard wines and fine candies from The Chocolatier Inc. There are also plans to team up with other local businesses in the future.

“We’re truly about supporting local businesses and we wanted the opportunity to bring them in and work with them,” Todd said.

Separate bridal and family sympathy areas also ensure unique and tailored experience to those who choose All in Bloom.

The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Family friend Linda Johnson relocated from Tucson to join All in Bloom as manager and lead designer.

“When I asked Jodi what they wanted their business to represent and she replied, ‘God, family, community and customer service,’ that’s when I knew I was moving to Washington,” Johnson said.

“The Cannons are just the kindest people,” she added. “They really just want to give to the community.”

Johnson has more than 25 years of experience in sales, business and floral design. She has designed wholesale showrooms in all major and many regional markets including Atlanta, New York City, Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Designer Dixie Anderson adds 29 years of experience in floral design to the team. She has owned and managed two floral shops in Iowa and Missouri.

Because the shop is opening during quite a busy season for florists, a grand opening celebration is currently being planned for June.
