A frustrating fourth quarter resulted in a fourth-place finish for the Washington girls basketball team Friday night at the Manual tournament.

Up a point heading into the final frame, the Panthers were outscored 15-5 down the stretch as Lincoln pulled away for a 37-28 victory and the tournament's third-place trophy.

Lily Harlan had 11 points to pace the Panthers, who went just 1-for-1 from the free-throw line in the loss. Leah Schneider had a game-high 19 points for the Railsplitters.

PEORIA HIGH 42, EAST ST. LOUIS 37: Derria Edwards scored a game-high 16 points to guide the Lions to the consolation championship. Down 33-32 after three quarters, Peoria High limited the Flyers to four points in the fourth to earn the victory.

ELSEWHERE: Kaitlyn Osmulski scored 21 for Notre Dame in a 53-52 loss to Sprinfield Lanphier in the consolation third-place game down on Griswold St. ... Zoie Wall had 15 points to lead Limestone to a 57-53 win over the host Rams in the competition title game. Colby Hughes scored 13 for Manual. Madelyne Aaron had eight points for East Peoria in a 39-24 victory over IVC for competition third. Jaime Cecil had 10 points for the Grey Ghosts.


CHATHAM GLENWOOD 65, CANTON 56: Anna Plumer had 16 points and Tori Oaks scored 13 for the Little Giants, who were relegated to the large-school third-place game in the consolation bracket at Normal Community. Canton bounced back from a bad first quarter (20-7) to make it game with a 20-12 run in the second.

CANTON 52, ROCHESTER 45: The Little Giants rebounded from their earlier setback to finish third in the consolation bracket, with Plumer's team-high 13 points leading the way. Tori Oaks added nine points for Canton.

CHAMPAIGN ST. THOMAS MORE 60, BRIMFIELD 55 (OT): Mallory Meinke had 17 points and Kamryn Cuevas 14 for the Indians, who rallied with an 18-12 fourth quarter to force overtime but fell short in the extra period. Nakaya Hughes scored 26 to lead the Sabers.

ROCKFORD LUTHERAN 48, BRIMFIELD 45: Leading 34-32 after three quarters, the Indians were outpaced in the final eight minutes as Rockford Lutheran rallied to take seventh-place in the small-school bracket at Normal Community. Kamryn Cuevas had a game-high 21 points for Brimfield.

PEORIA CHRISTIAN 41, LEROY 40: Keseanna Watson had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Chargers, who got it together in the fourth quarter to claim seventh place in the small-school consolation bracket. 


ILLINI WEST 34, PLEASANT PLAINS 28: Baylee Clampitt scored a game-high 17 points as the third-seeded Chargers pulled away late to win the Lady Tigers Classic championship. Tied at 19 after three quarters, the Chargers outscored the top-seeded Cardinals 15-9 in the fourth to reel in the title.

LEWISTOWN 66, JACKSONVILLE ROUTT 45: The Indians outscored the Rockets in every quarter to win the third-place game going away. Hannah Burdess led all scorers with 16 points for Lewistown, which got 13 more from Trissa Shawgo.

ILLINI BLUFFS 43, HAVANA 20: Camryn Stafford scored 15 points and Hannah Alvey added 12 for the Tigers, who led 26-6 at the half on the way to winning the consolation championship. No Havana player scored more than four points.


SPRINGFIELD SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 72, PEKIN 43: Molly Flannigan scored 12 points for the Dragons, who only trailed by two at halftime, but were outscored 19-4 in the fourth quarter in the fifth place game.

PARIS 65, PEKIN 60: Flannigan was 10-for-10 from the free-throw line and scored 16 for the Dragons in this one. Maddy Cash put up 12 points for Pekin, which fell behind early and missed its shot at the third-place game in the morning loss. 


MIDWEST CENTRAL 50, TREMONT 45: Vanessa Ehnie had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Turks, whose fourth-quarter rally fell short in the fifth-place game. Mady Harper scored 22 points and made seven steals for the Raiders, who led 15-7 after the first quarter at the Hawk Center. Megan Teal scored 12 points and pulled down 11 boards for Midwest Central.
