Area outlook: Top-ranked Washington enters its sixth dual-team sectional in seven years with big-time momentum, after earning a school-record 10 medals at the individual state tournament. The Panthers defeated Lincoln-Way West 45-25 in last year’s sectional to earn a berth at state, where they finished a program-best second. Washington put four in title matches last weekend, led by champions Dack Punke (44-4 at 113), Tyler Delaware (37-8 at 120) and Jacob Warner (43-2 at 182). Lincoln-Way West sent six to state and are led by Chris Kennedy (fifth at 106), Kyle Ruettiger (fifth at 145) and Gehrig Simons (sixth at 126).

Area outlook: Olympia seeks its first dual-team state appearance since 2005 with a team that has 10 wrestlers with 30 or more wins, led by state qualifiers Lane Litwiller (30-10 at 112), sixth-place medalist Bo Bauer (35-9 at 170) and fifth-place medalist Keaton Fogler (42-7 at 220). Beardstown also has a trio of state qualifiers — Lalo Munez (37-14 at 132), Jake Savage (30-10 at 145) and Wyatt Logsdon (28-12). Olympia finished second in 2001, third in 1999 and fourth in 2000 at the dual-team state tournament.
