Tanner Doerr could not be stopped, as Peoria Heights advanced to the Class 1A Lewistown boys basketball regional semifinals.

Doerr, a 6-foot-3 senior, scored 26 points — 14 in the first half — to lead the fifth-seeded Patriots to a 72-56 victory Monday against No. 10 seed Hartsburg-Emden.

Sophomore Geno Hess added 17 points, 13 of those in the second half, for Peoria Heights (13-14).

The Patriots, who led 32-14 at the half, meet No. 3 seed Elmwood (20-9) on Wednesday in the second semifinal.

AT BRIMFIELD: Brendan Streitmatter and Noah Bauman each hit five 3-pointers and scored 26 to power seventh-seeded Princeville to an 86-60 victory against Galva.

The Princes led by 12 at the half, then outscored Galva 22-8 in the third to put the game out of reach.

Princeville (18-12), which made 13 treys on the night, plays No. 4 seed Polo in Wednesday’s semifinals.

ELSEWHERE: Sage Pearson scored 17 as Stark County’s season ended in a 70-41 loss to No. 9 seed Ridgewood. The Rebels finished the season 6-22.
