Donna P. Waller, 82, of Morton, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Donna was born May 25, 1936, in Peoria, to Joseph and Marie (Merkley) Matuszewski. She married Gene Waller on April 23, 1988, in Davenport, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband Gene, of Morton; two daughters, Sheila Richardson of Pekin and Angi (Chuck) Lawson of Garnavillo, Iowa; two stepsons, James (Colleen) Waller of Peoria and John (Rita) Waller of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Gail) Matuszewski of Morton; and two sisters, Colleen Walker of East Peoria and Judi (Jerry) Higgens of Peoria.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Theresa Peters and one brother, Joe “Ushie” Matuszewski.

Donna was a hairdresser for over 50 years. She had owned and operated The Charm Celler and the Charm Chalet, both in East Peoria. Donna retired from The Originals in Peoria Heights in 1999.

Donna was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Woman’s League of the Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1020 S. First Ave., Morton, IL. Msgr. Gerald T. Ward will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
