PEORIA — A Peoria County resident, a woman in her 100’s, has died of COVID-19.
The woman was not a resident of a long-term care facility.
To date, the area has seen 41 deaths and 1,129 cases of COVID-19.
The Peoria County Health Department reported 48 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, for a to-date total of 840 cases and 30 deaths. Peoria County is currently reporting a 3.1 percent positivity rate.
The Tazewell County Health Department reported 15 new cases since Friday, for a to-date total of 223 cases. Of those, two are hospitalized, 41 are isolating at home, 157 have recovered, and eight have died. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Tazewell County had a positivity rate of 1.5 percent for the week of June 5 through 11.
Woodford County reported six more cases of COVID-19 since Friday, for a to-date total of 66. Of those, one is hospitalized, 17 are at home isolating, 45 have recovered and one died. Woodford County is currently reporting a 2.1 percent positivity rate.
Hospitalizations have risen since Friday. There are currently 10 COVID-19 patients in area intensive care units, up from four on Friday. Twenty-four COVID-19 patients occupy non-ICU beds, up from 22 on Friday.
