Some 80 percent of Bradley’s 211 student-athletes earned a spot on the annual Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll, announced by the league office.
The Honor Roll requires a minimum 3.2 semester grade-point average for the 2018 fall or 2019 spring term, athletics team membership and full-time academic status during the qualifying semester.
Eight Braves also qualified for the President’s Council Academic Excellence Award (3.8 cumulative GPA, two years athletic participation) – Will Anderson (men’s cross country/track), Katie Habryle (softball), Chloe Horton (women’s golf), Michael Mounce (men’s golf), Maggie Revell (volleyball), Frankie Saban (women’s golf), Alissa Schovanec (volleyball) and Malini Wijesinghe (tennis).
Fifty-nine Braves qualified for the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award (3.5 GPA previous two semesters, 3.2 cumulative GPA, two years athletic participation) with all 15 of the school’s teams represented by multiple student-athletes.
Bradley and Loyola were the only two schools to qualify multiple student-athletes from every team for the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award.
In addition to Bradley’s 80 percent qualification rate (168-of-211 student-athletes) for the 2018-19 MVC Honor Roll, additional MVC academic honors highlights included:
Of the Bradley baseball team’s 35 team members, 31 qualified for the 2018-19 MVC Honor Roll, the most of The Valley’s eight baseball squads.
Fifty of Bradley’s 60 cross country runners were Honor Roll qualifiers.
Bradley women’s golf shared the league lead with nine Honor Roll qualifiers.
