Saturday is loaded with events this weekend in Tazewell County, ranging from outdoor activities to musical performances to rooting for a rubber duck to make it down a water slide. Can you really ask for anything more?
Dusty Boots Music Festival
What: A music festival at The Red Barn in Mackinaw which aims to raise money for veterans while offering musical accompaniment.
Where: The Red Barn, 32595 County Road 1200 North, Mackinaw, Ill.
When: Friday, Aug 23 at 9 a.m. to Sunday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.
No Baloney Bicycle Ride
What: The No Baloney Bicycle Ride returns for its 46th year and will take off from Morton’s Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club. There are four different route choices: 20 miles, 45 miles, 65 miles and 100 miles.
Where: Ride begins from Morton’s Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club, 22172 Kennel Lake Dr, Morton, Ill.
When: Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration begins at 5:30 a.m. and rides begin as early as 6:30 a.m.
Hooked on Easterseals Fished Derby
What: Fishing derby with 100 percent of proceeds being donated to Easterseals - Peoria. At the fourth annual event, trophies will be awarded to first and second place winners in each category.
Where: 1807 N. Main St., East Peoria, Ill.
When: Registration begins at 9 a.m., derby is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $10.00 adults, $5.00 children ages 3-7 or $25.00 for whole family.
Center for Prevention of Abuse Duck Race
What: CFPA’s longest running fundraiser, now in its 31st year, is back. Adopt a duck and watch it race down a water slide for your chance at bragging rights and prizes. Also at the event will be food trucks and live music.
Where: EastSide Centre, 1 Eastside Dr, East Peoria, Ill.
When: Saturday, Aug. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Cost: $5 to adopt a duck.
Rat Pack is Back
What: Long-running tribute show with performers portraying Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr channeling their infamous Las Vegas performances.
Where: Five Points Caterpillar Performing Arts Center, 360 N Wilmor Dr, Washington, Ill.
When: Saturday, Aug.24 from 7 to 9 p.m.
