PEORIA — An arson fire Tuesday inside the old Harrison School building, 2702 W. Krause, caused about $200 of damage, according to the Peoria Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at the school shortly after 5 p.m. after a report of flames showing. The fire was discovered in the second floor stairwell at the rear of the vacant school. Firefighters put a hose through a second-story window and quickly extinguished the blaze.
The building was searched for possible victims or secondary fires before a board-up crew was called to secure the building. The incident has been turned over to the Peoria fire investigation team.
