BLOOMINGTON — Central Illinois will soon have direct, seasonal service to Denver, via Bloomington's airport.
Frontier Airlines announced Tuesday that it is offering flights thrice weekly from Central Illinois Regional Airport to Denver International Airport.
"We are proud to bring our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right back to Bloomington," said Jonathan Freed, the low-cost carrier's corporate communications director, in a prepared statement.
The airline is also adding flights to Orlando International Airport three times a week.
Both services will begin in the fall.
The Denver flight will begin the week of Sept. 24 and operate Monday and Friday the first week.
The following week, when Orlando service begins on Oct. 2, flights to and from both cities will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
On those three days, a flight will leave Denver for Bloomington at 6:05 a.m. and arrive at 9:15 a.m., and an outbound flight will depart from Bloomington at 6:35 p.m., arriving in Denver at 7:59 p.m.
Orlando service will depart Bloomington at 10 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 1:30 p.m. It then returns from Orlando at 4:25 p.m., arriving in Bloomington at 5:50 p.m.
