PEORIA — Jennifer Zammuto, who has spent 10 years with the Caterpillar Foundation, will be the next president of the Heart of Illinois United Way.
Zammuto will join United Way on Aug. 1 and replace current president Michael Stephan, who will retire Aug. 31.
“The model the Heart of Illinois United Way uses to invest community dollars efficiently and effectively to impact lives in our region is remarkable. I am honored to be a small part of this team of employees, hundreds of volunteers, and partner agencies that make such a difference in the lives of those in our community,” Zammuto said in a statement Wednesday.
Heart of Illinois United Way is the largest non-governmental funder of health and human care programs in central Illinois. The money it raises stays in the community funding programs in Marshall, Peoria, Putnam, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford counties that help one in three people in central Illinois each year, according to the statement.
