BARTONVILLE — Tag Grampp's pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns broke open Friday's Mid-Illini Conference game as Morton beat Limestone, 39-13.

After a scoreless third quarter, Limestone (2-6, 2-4) made it a 19-13 game just 1:59 into the fourth quarter. But Grampp used a pair of rushing scores — a 3-yard and a 15-yard — and pushed the Potters (6-2, 4-2) advantage to 32-13, while helping them clinch a playoff spot.

He added a 48-yard TD in the first quarter.

The Rockets hung around most of the night. A Limestone score at the 10:36 mark of the second quarter cut the Morton lead to 13-7

However, Morton quarterback Nolan Donald responded. His short TD made it 19-7 with 4:06 left in the opening half. That was Donald's second score of the half following a 27-yard TD scamper.

Danny Bailey wrapped up the road victory thanks to a pick-6 with 3:21 left in the game.
