OMAHA, Neb. — Emily Clemens scored 29 and Taylor Higginbotham had her seventh double-double of the season as the Western Illinois women's basketball team beat Omaha 90-51 on Saturday at Baxter Arena.
Higginbotham had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Western (13-5, 3-1), while Clemens his five 3-pointers. Morgan Blumer contributed with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Michelle Farrow rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds and six assists.
"It's great to finally play well at Omaha, " Western coach coach JD Gravina said in a release. "It's been a tough place to play for us in the past. We really came back with a better offensive mentality and attacked them in several different ways. Our rebounding effort was tremendous as well."
Clemens scored 15 in the first quarter as Western Illinois jumped out to a 28-9 lead after 10 minutes. It expanded top 47-20 at the half.
Ellie Brecht scored 14 to lead Omaha (8-8, 0-4). Emily Dewey added 12 points and six rebounds.
