The 200 freestyle relay team for the Pekin Co-op swimming & diving team is already ahead of last year's group in the same race. The team of Jaidlyn Sellers, Sami Curtis, Lauren Spanos and Kelen McDaniels swam a winning time of 1:46.99 in a meet against Moline last week.

Last season, the Dragons had a best time of 1:47.46 in the 200 free relay.

"The relay team is moving in the right direction, and my hope is that they continue to excel within this event as a team of these four," first-year Pekin coach Erin Cealey said. "They are encouraging to each other during practice, which is helping with their performance during the meets."

Sellers, McDaniels, Claire Whiting and Grace Nieukirk also won the 200 medley relay. Other Pekin wins against Moline were by Whiting (50 free), McDaniels (100 fly), Sellers (100 back) and Bella Brakebill (100 free).
