Dash at Dusk

UnityPoint Health-Pekin (that’s what Pekin Hospital is called now after affiliating in January with UnityPoint Health) will hold its fifth annual Dash at Dusk 5K and Kids Fun Run on July 21.

The event is a fundraiser for the hospital’s annual mission trip to provide medical assistance to an underserved country. Hospital staff will be going to Liberia this year.

The hospital’s campus at 600 S. 13th St. serves as the headquarters for Dash at Dusk, which includes a 5K run, 1-mile walk, fun run for kids and a family-friendly party afterwards.

Start time is 6:30 p.m. That’s why the event is called Dash at Dusk.

Entry fees are $30 for the 5K run and 1-mile walk and $15 for the kids fun run, with all proceeds benefitting the mission trip.

There were 338 participants a year ago in the Dash at Dusk and more than $9,000 was raised.
