It’s time to trim trees and clear away brush and garbage to make Pekin shine. Pekin Interim City Manager Sarah Newcomb said the city and Pekin Main Street started some projects last year to beautify downtown, including the large flower pots. Newcomb, Pekin Main Street Board President Chris Deverman and DreamScapes Landscaping owner Mitchell O’Shaughnessy strolled downtown this week to see what can be done to improve the image of the historic area.
