We like your voice but not your face.
Or, we like your face but not your voice.
China is putting on a pretty face. The opening ceremonies were spectacular, including having an adorable nine-year-old girl lip syncing the Chinese National Anthem. According to an Associated Press article, the seven-year-old girl who actually sang the song was not cute enough to perform.
Oh, please.
The Chinese politico is trying so hard to show a human side — a friendly face.
I have been watching the Olympics since it started, granted it has been on DVR so I can fast forward through commercials and some of the things I do not have the patience to watch, such as cycling, and my impression is that you can dress up China and put on the appearance of a friendly nation.
But when it comes out that some of the fireworks from the opening ceremony were computer generated for the TV audience and officials did not think a seven year old was cute enough, it pretty much says the while China is attempting to look friendly, the political machine has not changed much.
Remember, they had to have smiling lessons.
