Early Friday morning, April 10, my new Web site, www.JohnCAckerman.com, passed its first milestone when it received its 500th visit. With this milestone accomplished, I wanted to share some information concerning the use of the Web site to this point in time. Here are a few statistics we have.

In the two weeks since it was first publicized, the site has had, at the time of this writing, 501 visits, with 325 of them being first-time visitors. The site has drawn visits from 22 different states, the District of Columbia and three other countries (Japan, the United Kingdom and Canada). The Tri-County area makes up the vast majority of visits, totaling 76 percent, followed by the Chicago area at 5 percent and the Bloomington/Normal Area at 3.6 percent.

Currently, 48.4 percent of the visits are direct traffic (people going straight to the Web site), while 44.6 percent are being referred from other sites or links, and 7 percent are coming from search engines.

The newsletter currently has 98 individuals it reaches. There has been four newsletters so far that have been sent out with topics ranging from this update on the Web site’s milestone to the announcement that gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady was going to speak in Mackinaw last week to an update of the county’s use of stimulus funding.

I want to thank all of you that have taken the time to send in suggestions, comments and requests for information. As I have mentioned all along, the information on the Web site will be continually updated and improved. Since the Web site went live on March 30th, additions to the site have included the county board budget, the county land use map, new events have been added to the calendar, and several press releases, news updates, and photos have been added.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you, and please continue to visit the Web site at www.JohnCAckerman.com.
