The Taste of Washington 2010, hosted by the Washington Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 20, was a great success in spite of the uncertain weather and change of venue.
The chamber would like to thank the businesses that participated in the third annual Taste of Washington: Basta O’Neill’s, Bernardi’s Restaurant, Chef’s Catering, Countryside Banquet Facility, Denhart’s Baking Co., Gracie’s Sports Grille & Pizza, Grand Victorian of Washington, Maria’s, Monical’s Pizza, and Royal Dragon. Congratulations to all the winners: Best of Taste — Chef’s Catering; Best Appetizer — Chef’s Catering; Best Entrée — Grand Victorian; Best Dessert — Countryside Banquet Facility; Best Decorated Booth — Countryside Banquet Facility; and Wait Staff Olympics — Bernardi’s Restaurant.
A big thank you goes out to ALL of the volunteers who helped before, during and after the event. The community spirit that you demonstrate by volunteering your time and talents is immeasurable. Thank you, also, to those who “volunteered” to be judges for the Best of Taste — Jim Susin, Craig Bertrand, and Patrick Higby; and for the Booth Decorating Contest — Ron Baurer, Kris Aberle, and Mike Barclay.
The chamber would like to thank everyone — businesses and the community in general — for their flexibility and patience when the last minute location change occurred. Thanks to Lori’s Kitchen Store and Brecklin’s BP Amoco, along with other specialty shops on the square, for standing with the chamber when the weather predictions forced the move to Five Points.
And a HUGE thank you goes to Five Points Washington for their very generous offer to use their facility so that the event would not have to be cancelled. The success of this event is just another example of why Washington is a great place to live!
