Washington’s Sunnyland Branch Library invites you to visit their friendly, convenient location in the Sunnyland Plaza, serving patrons since 1975.
Basically offering the same services as the main library at Five Points Washington, the branch library offers a large collection of material in a neighborly atmosphere.
From a wide selection of books and magazines to current movies and popular music CDs, the branch has something for all ages. Patrons may also use one of four Internet computers with attached printers.
National Library Week, “Worlds Connect @ Your Library,” will be celebrated April 11-18.
Children ages 3 to 6 years are invited to an open storytime from 6:30 to 7 p.m. April 14.
At 11 a.m. April 18, magician Gordon Snow will provide a morning of amazing magical entertainment for the whole family.
Patrons may wish to return overdue items during National Library Week, as no fines will be assessed.
“Read on the Wild Side” is this year’s summer reading theme.
The program will take place from June 1 to July 17. Children ages 3 years through high school earn prizes for reading, with special drawings, events and crafts along the way.
Those who complete the program may participate in our wild and wonderful final party!
The branch library offers the convenience of a smaller library with ample parking.
A few additional services available include the sale of used paperback books and postage stamps, copies of the Peoria Journal Star, Washington Courier and Washington Times-Reporter, city maps, voter registration, tax and circuit breaker forms, Illinois Central College catalogs, Rules of the Road booklets, a coupon exchange box and the Accelerated Reader’s lists.
A copier and a fax machine may be used for a small fee.
Obtaining a free library card requires nothing more than proof of Washington residency.
Children may get their own card at the age of 4.
Books and CDs may be borrowed for two weeks, magazines for one week and DVDs and videos for three days.
