James Ivan Portscheller, 63, of Sparland and formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at his home.
Portscheller was born Nov. 17, 1946, in Washington to Elmer and Lorene (Kirby) Portscheller.
Surviving are three children, Mike (and Stacey) Portscheller of Dunlap, Laura Portscheller of Peoria and Steven Portscheller of Peoria; five brothers, Ray (Regina) Portscheller of Albuquerque, N.M., Carl (Debbie) Portscheller of Santa Rosa, Calif., Bruce (Susan Yoder) Portscheller of East Peoria, Roger (Sue) Portscheller of Jacksonville, Fla., and Don Portscheller of East Peoria; two sisters, Lucy Portscheller of Petaluma, Calif., and Lynn O’Brien of Peoria; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Portscheller of Petaluma, Calif., and Dave Portscheller of Wildwood, Mo.
Portscheller was employed by Caterpillar as a design engineer prior to retiring.
Services were Saturday at the Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. Eugene Radosevich officiated.
Visitation was Friday at Mason-White Funeral Home.
