Helen O. Hesselein, 95, of Washington, died at 11:50 a.m. at her home, Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Born March 11, 1914, in Washington to Ralph and Lottie Zinser Vogelsang, she married Elmer Hesselein June 4, 1932, in Washington. He died Aug. 31, 1984, at home.
Surviving are one daughter, Willamine (Ed) Schuck of Washington; one brother, Victor (Freya) Vogelsang of Titusville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Irvin Vogelsang, and one sister, Vera Ruble.
She worked for more than 20 years as a secretary for Caterpillar Inc., starting in East Peoria, then working on Main Street and at Mossville before retiring.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jerry Trecek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
