WASHINGTON — Erline Palm, 74, of Washington, died at 10:28 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born Oct. 12, 1935, in Bunke, La., to Kenneth and Maybel Barron Riley, she married William J. Palm Oct. 18, 1952, in Centralia.
Surviving are her husband, William, of 57 years; three daughters, Kate (Kent) Dunkelbarger of Pekin, Terry (David) Hibben of Chicago and Karen (Ralph) Cook of Washington; one sister, Sally (Darryl) Cobb of Houston, Texas; one brother, Charles W. (Joyce) Riley of Normal; four grandchildren, Paul Howerton III, Michael Cook, Kattie Burroughs and Madalyn Burroughs; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Lynn Howerton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Merle and James; and one sister, Mari.
Erline loved to travel and was a pianist for 30 years. Both she and her family enjoyed contributing to her large music box collection. She also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and bird watching. The light of her life were her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Richard Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
