Loretta Irene Schoch, 86, formerly of Peoria, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Washington Christian Village in Washington.
Born April 20, 1923, in Peoria, to Charles Lee and Hazel Totten Shinnefield, she married Elmer Charles Schoch July 18, 1948, in Peoria. He died July 11, 2008, in Washington.
Surviving are one daughter, Paula (John) Boesch, and one son, Alan (Wanda) Schoch, both of East Peoria; one sister, Louise Stear of Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one half-sister.
Schoch was employed as an accountant for Ideal Troy Cleaners and later for Universal C.I.T. Credit Corp., both in Peoria. She was also the co-owner of Schoch’s Market for 45 years.
Services were Jan. 27 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Karl Eckhoff officiated. Visitation was prior to services at the funeral home. Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
