WASHINGTON –  Kathleen Carol Zehr, 69, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at her home.

Born Oct. 19, 1938, in Peoria to Glenwood and Laura Gingerich Imhoff, she married Dean R. Zehr Aug. 9, 1958. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Rita (David) Kirkwood of Bloomington and Debra (David) Frohberg of West Lafayette, Ind.; two sons, Curt (Sue) Zehr of Washington and Stan (Julie) Zehr of Eureka; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three infant sisters.

She graduated from Washington Community High School and attended Goshen College in Goshen, Ind.
She and her husband farmed in the Washington and Eureka area all of her adult life.

In later years, she worked for Valley Forge Family Physicians. She was active in various community organizations, including her children’s schools and Woodford County Home Extension.  

She was a lifelong member of Metamora Mennonite Church, where she faithfully served in many capacities.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Metamora Mennonite Church. The Revs. Michael Danner and Dawn Yoder Harms will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home in Washington.
Burial will be at Hickory Point Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
