William E. Alexander Jr., 67, of Washington, died at his home Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010.
Born June 28, 1943, in Indianapolis to William and Joann Horine Alexander, Sr., he married Diedra Ingle in 1963 in Tuscola and was married for 32 years. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tami (Rick) Mason of Washington and Robin (Tim) Simpson of Benson; one son, William Alexander, III of Washington; three sisters, Jeanie (Harold) Rankin of Oakland, Becky (Ron) Winn of Heyworth and Cindy of Dallas; one brother, Gary (Connie) Alexander of Villa Grove; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sarah Bowen and Camden Simpson; and one brother, Ed.
He owned and operated Alexander’s Marathon Station at the corner of Willow Knolls and University in Peoria. Later he was owner of Alexander-Scheiber Floor Coverings in Morton for 13 years prior to his retirement in 2008.
Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
