David Paul Portscheller, 65, of Wildwood, Mo., formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Nov. 2, 1944, in Washington to Elmer and Lorene (Kirby) Portscheller, he married Mary Pruss Nov. 13, 1965, in Washington. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Ike (Nancy); six brothers, Jim Portscheller of Sparland, Ray (Regina) Portscheller of Albuquerque, N.M., Carl (Debbie) Portscheller of Santa Rosa, Calif., Bruce (Susan Yoder) Portscheller of East Peoria, Roger (Sue) Portscheller of Jacksonville, Fla., and Don Portscheller of East Peoria; two sisters, Lucy Portscheller of San Francisco and Lynn O’Brien of Peoria; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Portscheller of Petaluma, Calif.
He was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam in 1966-67.
Portscheller was president and co-owner of Comet Supply Inc. in Washington and later held positions in petroleum products sales and transportation.
Services were Saturday. A visitation at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington followed.
Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
