Dax Ryan Locke, 2, passed away after an 18-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born June 26, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, he was the only son of Austin and Julie Lemkemann Locke. They survive, as well as many other family members who loved him dearly.
Dax, who was a very happy little boy even in his illness, spent his first year of life at home. The remainder of his life was spent at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, and the OSF affiliate in Peoria, where he was loved and cared for by the nurses, doctors and other staff.
Austin and Julie wish to express their gratitude to all of those that have supported and cared for Dax, and are thankful for your kindness and prayers during his illness.
A public visitation was Jan. 3 at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.
Celebration of Life services were Jan. 4.
Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington assisted the family with arrangements.
